60s and 70s Dance Class with Jenny

60s AND 70s DANCE CLASS WITH JENNY

DANCE CLASS ONLINE

Let’s rage together in online dance class! Babes Rage dance classes explore dance fundamentals from our favorite era, the 60s and 70s. Class will consist of 3 parts:  A Go Go Dance warm up, Burlesque style Go Go dancing, followed by a creative 60s-70s choreographed routine.

We’re offering two group dance classes a month. Group classes start at 12:00 PM CDT on Saturdays. After you select and purchase classes, you’ll be sent an access link from Zoom via email. Individuals who enroll will receive a complementary downloadable link to our warm-up music, as well as any additional class content on the Thursday before class. We also offer One on One Sessions throughout the month. For more information about the types of classes we currently offer, click here.

PART 1. A GO GO WARM-UP

To warm up, we’ll learn (or review/practice if you already know the moves), 60s Go Go Dance classic moves such as the pony, twist, and mashed potato. Together, we’ll examine and practice expressing how these dance moves transformed in the 70s. Everyone who enrolls in class will receive a downloadable video link to our Go Go dance warm up music in advance so you can familiarize with the tunes before class and also practice what we learn after class, if you’d like.

PART 2. BURLESQUE STYLE GO GO DANCING

Let’s get into Goddess mode. In Part 2. of class, we’re going to practice merging elements of Burlesque and Go Go dance moves. In this portion, we’ll tap into our sensuality through hip and chest isolations with moves like the bump n’ grind and shimmy. Right in the comfort of your own home!

PART 3. 60s-70s ENTERTAINMENT

It’s time to entertain! (Well, virtually at least). For Part 3., think “The Cher Show,” “The Ed Sullivan Show,” and groups like Pan’s People and the Ding-A-Lings. We’ll learn a routine choreographed by Babes Rage founder, Jenny. We’ll apply the moves learned in Part 1. and 2. in a short, simple routine. Through the choreography, you’ll be able to bring your own personal style to the dance.
